It was made by local residents, and during the war with the Ottomans, a large arms production was organized. The Chkhutuneti museum is located in the building of a former Ottoman mosque. To this day, a dome with patterns and carved stairs and walls have been preserved. The work was done by masters from Georgia and in protest they added one of the symbols of their country - grape bunches to the patterns. The Ottomans did not notice this manifestation of rebellion, and thanks to their distraction, we can see such a wonderful embodiment of the talent of Georgian masters. Many tours from Batumi are organized daily to those places. A tour of mountainous Adjara involves a long stop at the museum and its surroundings.
